This year I attended my second year of Upward Bound at Kent State University. Upward Bound is a program for students who are either first generation college bound students or people who are around poverty level. This year has definitely been better than my first. My first year I had my senior friends there to fall back on, but now that I am the older friend this year I really had to do everything myself. Through this I have met a lot of really great people.

Another connection I have made is with my Work Study director Katie. They are a great person and I’m glad I’ve met them. Every time I walk in to the LGBTQ+ Student Center they always ask me how my day was, how were my classes, about my friends. They’re really great and i’m glad I got the opportunity to work with them
